SDSU Alum Dr. Marissa Vasquez Urias Wins Award for Dissertation

Congratulations to Dr. Marissa Vasquez Urias on being selected as the second place winner of the 2015 Outstanding Dissertation Competition sponsored by the American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education (AAHHE) and Educational Testing Services (ETS)!  Dr. Vasquez Urias is a 2014 graduate of the San Diego State University independent Ed.D. Program in Community College/Post-Secondary Education.


This is a significant scholarly achievement and the College of Education is proud to celebrate this accomplishment with Dr. Vasquez Urias.  Dr. Vasquez Urias will accept her award at the 10th Annual AAHHE National Conference held in March 2015 in Frisco, Texas.

Additionally, Dr. Marissa Vasquez Urias is also among one of five finalists to emerge from a blind review of 25 nominations for the 2014 The Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE) Bobby Wright Dissertation of the Year Award.
