How Regina Brandon is Making a Difference in the College of Education
"I’m currently coordinator of the Preliminary Special Education, Mild/Moderate Credential Program. My research centers around identifying and addressing the alienation of culturally- and linguistically-diverse parents from their children’s educational environments as well as evaluating the outcomes of the successful inclusion of students with disabilities into general education. I’m currently conducting reading tutoring programs with several schools with San Diego Unified School District. I’m also the Co-PI on the Garden PLOT, a project designed to provide special-education and general-education teacher-candidates opportunities to co-Plan, co-Learn, co-Operate and co-Teach in integrated classrooms. It’s a partnership with Estella Chizhik and the La Mesa-Spring Valley School District. Currently I’m a member of the University Senate and serve on the E-Board for CFA."
