Pathways Office Welcomes New Staff

The Pathways Team introduces you to Liz Buffington, their new Tutor Training Specialist. Liz is a native of San Diego. She returned to San Diego after living in Denver Colorado. She is here with her family and enjoying the California scenery. In Colorado, Liz was an AVID teacher, ran a tutoring center, an instructional coach at schools, and led training for AVID programs.  She continues to consult and train for the AVID programs. Liz is a proud graduate of University of Colorado at Boulder and Metropolitan State University of Denver. They are fortunate to have Liz join the team at this critical time at the Pathways Office.

They also have a new Administrative Support Coordinator in the Pathways Office, Valeria Sanchez. She has been working at SDSU in the College of Extended Studies. Valeria keeps the Pathways Office organized and ensures that our world runs smoothly. In addition, she is working on updating and migrating the PCI website to the new platform.

The Pathways Office is part of the SDSU Pre-College Institute. They are thankful for the partnership with the College of Education, School of Teacher Education, College of Sciences, and CRMSE that have made it possible to serve students at SDSU, build the pipeline of future educators who are interested in careers in STEM education.

They are hiring SDSU students for the spring semester for our service-learning tutoring program.
