The Penn Center for Minority Serving Institutions (CMSI) has selected 19 Early Career Faculty Members to participate in its ELEVATE training program, and the College of Education’s own Marissa Vasquez-Urias was selected to participate.

First Annual Otay Experience Forum Inspires Local High School Seniors

This past spring, more than 100 seniors at Otay Ranch High School attended the first annual “Otay Experience Forum, Breaking Barriers and Changing Perceptions: Finding the Hero Within” event.  Some of San Diego’s top female leaders participated as panelists, including SDSU College of Education Assistant Dean Tanis Starck and SDSU doctoral alum Sweetwater District Superintendent Dr. Karen Janney.
