The National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) rewarded Dr. Trish Hatch with its prestigious Excellence in Achievement award.

Dr. Hatch, Professor and Director of the School Counseling program in the Department of Counseling and School Psychology, is also a former recipient of the President’s Leadership Award as well as many other administrative awards. Additionally, Dr. Hatch serves on five different committees within the College of Education that each shape policy for the college collectively.

In her field, Dr. Hatch is a nationally recognized author, trainer, consultant, and keynote speaker. Dr. Hatch has also worked in partnership with the White House’s College Opportunity Agenda and the First Lady’s Reach Higher Initiative, which convened on the SDSU campus last year.

The NACAC is an organization of more than 15,000 professionals from around the world dedicated to serving students as they make choices about pursuing postsecondary education. The Association held its annual conference in San Diego in early October, and the award is one of six that are given out by its Board of Directors.

As the Director of the School Counseling program, Dr. Hatch has worked extensively as a counselor throughout her career, and has more than a decade of service at San Diego State. The College of Education would like to congratulate Dr. Hatch on her prestigious award!
